I was off for a couple days but I want to go back and talk about my day on Tuesday. It was fun filled and great!
I participated in a Leadership Conference for 5th graders. Three girls came and visited me here at the studio and we talked about leadership in my role, the station as a whole and in the community. I have to say it was probably one of the best experiences to be apart of. The girls were very bright and had lots of great questions. We also went through exactly what I do at my job and how my day goes by. It was fun showing them all the bells and whistles that we have. We played on the weather wall, they gave a forecast to each other and even interviewed each other on our set! For 5th graders I was surprisedhow confident they were getting in front of the camera! Here is a picture I took with them. After spending time at my work place we went and had lunch and finished by looking at collagesthey made with people who they believe are leaders. It was a great morning!
Next it was off to a Big Brothers Big Sisters meeting. We are in the works of planning next years Bowl for Kids Sake! This year we are having a “Totally 80′s” theme. It is going to be bigger and better than ever and I can’t wait. Make sure to mark off Feb 11th and 12th on your calender and come out and bowl for a great cause!
The last function I attended was Kids Night at Fazoli’s. Every Tuesday they have a night where kids can have some fun while at dinner. It was fun being there and I enjoyed all the kiddos I met. We talked about all sorts of things but my favorite was finding out what season they like most and why. The answers are always different and sometimes a big surprise.
